Casting Number C11S115690 VO420CJK. 983 brands hatch green 423 interior green. All body seams present and visible. The car was repainted once in the 1980's, and still has nice shine and driver quality paint, with some scratches and chips typical of its age. Still quite presentable. The chrome is nice. The windshield is original and has a crack which I took a picture of, I was not going to replace it, didn't seem to affect anything but cosmetics. Headlamps work fine, as do wipers. Original Black Vinyl Hardtop. The white soft top is in excellent shape. Interior seats have been recovered with leather, code says vinyl but color is correct and they look very nice. Carpeting is faded, no holes or worn spots, it is probably original to the car. Console in center has a chipped spot, it is pictured. Door panels are very nice with no cracks. No seat belts, and don't know what happened to them. Overall the interior is quite presentable for its age. Guages function with the exception of the radio and clock. The dash lights are not coming on, although when you open the door, those lights do come on. Factory air functions, probably could use a charge. Factory GM eight inch Rally wheels, tires are vintage tires and have been on the car a long time, I hear a tire noise in the right rear tire...probably a broken belt. Chassis is very nice, frame is solid. Spare Tire Carrier still has the original sticker on the lid, this is shown on a picture. Engine compartment; Complete. All the original shielding is present. Air breather original. The car sat for over twenty years and was used very sparingly. The odometer stopped, but I think the mileage is pretty actual because the car was used so rarely through the last twenty to thirty years. It recently was brought out and some things done to freshen it up. The following are the things I know that were recently completed and have lots of receipts, Complete brake job..master cylinder, brake calipers, hoses, rotors turned to specs, replaced shocks, new radiator core, changed antifreeze, changed spark plugs. The car holds really good oil pressure and runs cool, and the motor is strong, no weird noises or ticks, but starts hard on a cold start, but then starts fine. I have not had time to work out the tweaks, and as I said the car sat on and off for years. Carberator could probably stand to be looked at. I plan on doing the points before it is sold. New gas tank was put on the car by the previous owner after it had sat so long. Bought the car for my wife because it was so original, and had automatic and PS and PB. She does not like it, wants it sold, and wants a mid year (roadster), so this is the only trade we would entertain. 72,791 miles. March 17, 2008. |
